About the position:

Senses Australia is seeking flexible part-time Support Workers for our clients residing in Perth's Southern Suburbs, whose values align with ours, strive for excellence and are passionate in providing the best possible service to people with a disability.

 

Senses Australia’s Support Workers work alongside our clients to assist them with all aspects of daily living, community access, social inclusion and support. As part of the Community Living department, each Support Worker will report to a Regional Area Supervisor.

 

Essential Criteria:

  • An ability to use a computer and mobile phone to access work emails and web based applications e.g. submit case notes, check roster
  • An ability and willingness to provide personal care to people who need it including support with showering and toileting.
  • Strong understanding of professional boundaries in the context of disability services and an ability to maintain professional boundaries during service delivery.
  • An ability and willingness to participate and support people in a range of social and leisure activities.
  • Work in a manner which empowers and values people with a disability.
  • Understand the needs of vulnerable people and be able to use your own initiative.
  • An understanding of Senses Australia’s values of integrity, respect, innovation and excellence and a willingness to promote them.
  • Hold a current Australian Drivers Licence and have access to a reliable car (covered by full comprehensive insurance).
  • Hold a current Provide First Aid Certificate (obtained within the previous 2 years).
  • Hold a National Police Clearance (obtained within the previous 6 months).
     

Desirable Criteria:

  • Minimum of Certificate 3 in Disability or equivalent
  • Previous experience in successfully supporting people who communicate unmet needs through behaviours that can be challenging.
