We are looking for a Senior Occupational Therapist for a role based in the Wheatbelt region whose values align with ours, strive for excellence and are passionate in providing the best possible service to people with a disability. Our allied health professionals encourage clients and their families to have choice and control over their services, achieve their goals in their individual plans including improved wellbeing, healthier relationships, participation in their chosen community and independence.

 

The role:

  • Permanent Part-time (0.4 FTE).
  • Providing Occupational Therapy services to clients within Senses Australia’s Disability Professional Services.
  • Providing effective clinical support and supervision for assigned staff.
  • Reporting to the Coordinator Therapy Services.
  • Assess, plan and develop discipline specific programs and regimes relevant to client’s individual service plans.
  • Assess and prescribe adaptive and therapeutic equipment as required to meet individual client needs.
  • Act as a consultant to other professionals, support staff, caregivers and local community regarding specific services provided to the client

Essential Criteria:

  • Must be registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and maintain yearly registration.
  • Ability to evaluate and adapt services as required
  • Understanding of and a commitment to the Professional Code of Ethics, Code of Conduct and the Disability Service Standards.
  • Experience in the prescription, use and range of equipment and assistive technology available for clients.
  • Previous experience providing clinical support and supervision to staff.
  • Previous experience working with clients with disabilities and their families and caregivers.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, resolve conflict and work collaboratively within a team.
  • Effective time management, caseload management and problem solving skills.
  • National Police Clearance (no older than 6 months).
  • Possession of a valid WA C or A Class driver’s licence.
  • Hold a current First Aid Certificate (no older than 2 years).

 

Desirable Criteria:

  • Previous experience working in a community service setting.
